Hello everyone,
It’s a Sunday. For me that means functional total body workout, more like combination of work and play.
I like to call in ‘Sunday funday’ . It’s a combination of play and work. On Sunday I usually explore different styles of workouts and combining them in one. I move around like on playground – changing direction and speed for movements, use different distraction during movement to challenge myself and to learn my body to respond to all of that.
Most of exercises is used in everyday life. For example how many times during the day you get down to pick up bags or carry a child on one side or stepping up to reach for something?
So in ‘Sunday funday’ workouts I simulate these movements with weights, mostly kettlebells and bands.
And to be honest, I really enjoy doing that.
Here is my last ‘Sunday funday’ functional total body work. I used one not to heavy kettlebell and band. I did 4 rounds with 1 minute rest after last exercise.
With some mobility work for warm up and cool down this functional total body workout took me less than hour.
Functional total body workout
- Single arm suitcase deadlift – 8 reps
- Kneeling single arm clean, press and stand up – 5 reps
- Side lunge with 1 arm row – 8 reps
- Halo with single leg stand – 8 reps
- Bird dog crunch – 16 reps
- V ups – 8 reps
- Squat jumps with band row – 30 sec
